Welcome

The sixteenth plenary meeting of the Global Standards Collaboration (GSC-16) will be held in Halifax, Nova Scotia, from October 31st to November 3rd, 2011. GSC meetings are by invitation only events that bring together many of the top Standards leaders from Canada, the U.S., Asia, and the EU to discuss global standards and priorities for the ICT industry.

The local host and organizer for GSC-16 is the ICT Standards Advisory Council of Canada (ISACC). ISACC is a government-private partnership formed in 1991 by the Standards Council of Canada, Industry Canada and the Information Technology Association of Canada, and is one of the Members of GSC.

GSC-16 will mark the third time that a GSC meeting has been held in Canada.  ISACC previously hosted both GSC-2 and GSC-8 in Ottawa (in 1995 and 2003 respectively).
